I still have doodles from 2007. I sometimes doodle stuff at work and take the half crumpled papers home. Haven't really drawn anything in a whole year T_T

Looking forward to SUMMER!

Why don't none of you be making real posts anymore!? Specially David. You barely even tweet man! Too busy with the GF I bet... uh huh.
My excuse for not doing everything or refusing to do anything is always "working on my costume, sorry" and although I don't put as many hours into it as I make it sound, or even wish I had, I'm making some progress.
My latest distraction is all these peopl I can now chat to... the internets always makes me late for things but I've put all the clocks around me forward, so now I make it 5 minutes late instead of 10. Pretty good I think.
Man, if only Teri would wake up earlier I could get more procrastinating done!!! I really wish we could be up and gymming by 9am, but if we're going to sleep by 2am that ain't gonna happen. Also considering the shit schedule we have next week I dunno when we're gonna squeeze in some gymmings.

I'm actually looking forward to this summer. SUMMER! Can't wait till I'm done with the costume and start a new project. Won't do school this summer semester... but maybe I'll look into going for Fall but maybe for a new degree? Anything to make moolah~

So close to achieving my ultimate body goal, 'xcept I've lost most of my boobage in the process. Thought about implants but I think wearing falsies when the situation calls for it is gonna make do for most of the time, 3K in tits IS a great investment. At least I won't have to spend in on SmartLipo (really thought about this!!). I wanna run faster, do more crunches, lift more weight... and have great hair!!

Bridesmaid dresses try on was such an eye opening experience for me. I really felt anything I threw on looked *good*. Like woah~
Also I totally suck at wedding planning stuffs... I'll just stick to my duty of making Teri hot for the date and holding her dress up when she needs to pee. And maybe learn a choreography for the DANCE OFF!

Muahahahahahhaah. I feel great today.
Peace out~

The makings of my dressfrom

completed dressform
This is my completed dress form. It's made from a plaster cast which is covered in duct tape and currently wearing a bra since the chest got smushed when I tried to make the paper mache mold from it.

Considering the trouble we went thru to get a good cast of the breasts... )

Cosplay adventures part deux!

I am so super excited about the cosplay, it's ridiculous. Today I walked in Teri's house to get working on the props and I noticed that she had her staff roughly perched up next to the wall. It's only the wooden pole and the wood cutout of the top design but I couldn't stop omg-ing about it. Suddenly I could see it; my dream realized: WE CAN DO THIS!

At this moment I am extremely thankful for the reduction of my work hours and ample amounts of days off. It looks like the plan is going right on schedule.

This week I finished my dressform after a failed attempt to create the paper mache mold (super fail waste of 4+ hours). At least I already had the sturdy-ish plaster cast which I ended sealing back up, filling up with newspapers, and wrapping in duct tape. Only thing is that it has to wear a bra since the boobies got squished with the paper mache paste. Finally I can say that one of things on my checklist is DONE.

Today we managed super duper progress on the props. We were able to cut the poles to fit into my sword and Teri's staff. It was so super exciting to actually hold my sword up and point it at things, strike a few poses. Also re-realizing that the dammed thing is so effing huuuugee...

I've tested out several spray paints and finally settled on which to use. At this point I have to pick a day to go back to Home Depot and Pearl's to return a shitload of stuff >_< Thank god I live in Miami and not some small town where going to these places would be a field trip.

Pics coming up for reals... I thought the LJ gallery system would work from the hotel computers but it didnt :(

Late night cosplay adventures

Remember those pics on the progress of my awesomely huge sword?? Well, I went ahead and drew the thing, took it to Aysha's house to have Kolin show us how to cut it, returned to Teri's house with what happens to be not the most appropiate tool for the job, have Juankie give me a superior bit for faster cutting, and get to work!
Well, the darned thing was cut and then Moo and Juankie are going "it's just not quite right..." and it wasn't, but I had drawn and re-drawn the design so many times I was quite stubborn about doing it over or changing it.
In any case I had decided to go in and vector the intricate design on the middle of the sword when it dawned on me: I COULDA VECTOR THE WHOLE THING! DURH! Tracing the sword in illustrator will enable me to neatly print it even it it needs to be 8 feet high, so of course I go in and trace the darned thing only to find how completely inaccurate my original draft had been. At least with my previous experience I was able to fisnish much faster and get the sanding done too. Only issue now is putting in the dowel... but that I will worry about once we gather the right tools.

And so I move on to other parts of my costume... all the items that I could possibly think I would be needing to order online have been ordered. I received my boxes with yards of foamies, plaster bandages, Cocona in her PVC flesh, I drove 40 minutes to a plastics warehouse to acquire precious styrene sheets and if all goes well wigs and contacts will arrive in time to even do tryouts.

I had even started to make a budget to track my already exorbitant expenses in this venture, but left that in the backburner since with each passing day feel like I'm not gonna make it on time =_=.

I decided it was time to get my hands drity and start crossing some stuff off my list. We squeezed in making Teri's ductape dressform on Monday and Moo helped me in making a plaster cast for mine. That's still only 50% done cuz the dressforms still have to be filled and made to stand in some sort of way...

After that I got inspired to try my hand at making the shoes (cuz they be some crazy shoes yo!), I stayed up until 3am just to barely figure out how I was gonna go about certain parts of the shoe, tried to go to sleep at 3 while my mind still thought of 20 different ways to make a heel, and my body still feeling like it was going thru the motions of hot glueing, cutting, tracing, and heat gunning. I took some nyquil to knock myself out and clear my nostrils, fell officially asleep at 6am and woke up 10:30 thinking I was gonna make myself gym with Teri.
Needless to say I found whatever I was doing for the shoe inappropiate to the point I almost had to start them over for scratch.

At least I feel better about actually trying to get started on the costume, even if failing at most of my attempts. I took another trip down to Pearl's before work today and should be better stocked to make more progress.

Right now I just one to be able to say *one* thing is 100% done. Be it one shoe, one breastplate, one accessorie or smth.

Rawr... pics later cuz I'm at work.

brooklyn

I'm a little worried about the constipation issue, since I had streamlined my digestive process to have me pooping exactly an hour after waking up, without fault, every morning. It was a smooth and quick process too.
Right now I don't feel like pooping and haven't felt like it during the whole trip. Thinking about how much I've eaten since I got here makes me wonder where the hell all that stuff is going and why it ain't coming out!!

Yesterday we missed 2 buses to NY which I will blame entirely on Mr Yoon's sleepyness which he will blame on me since he was trying not to snore for *my* sake so that kept him for having real restful sleep. What about me? I endured his snoring anyways >_>

By the time we do go out to get the bus it's 2:36 pm, maybe not the best time to be bus riding either since the sun was following us like a sniper, and our bus driver had to let go or push on the gas every 45 seconds or so. As soon as we got close to New Jersey, traffic and civilization started to sprout up; the familiar best buy, k-marts, panera (!?) and a sleepy's mattresses on every corner (guess they don't know about the giant).
The only time we were actually stuck on traffic was when we passed a mall, a HUGE shopping mall with Macy's and Nordstrom and BB&B, it didn't occur to me it was saturday afternoon...

Soon enough we were closing in on NYC and I glimpsed for a bit, by this time in all it's nighttime beauty, before we had to disappear under the Lincoln tunnel only to gloriously emerge right next to Times Square at the subway station. Jumped on two subs and then we're here.

Everything looks so different from anything I've seen before.

I woke up and I'm already hungry. Today's been warmer than any other day so far. I coulda definitely done without my super winter jacket, and less than half my clothes.

Mar. 13th, 2009

first little day

Mr. yoon is sick and it was snowing a little when I got here. Just the little powdery snow. The forecasts said it was going to be warmer around 40-50s but since i've been here it's been more around the 20s. Which is great (for me!) cuz I came for the cold; but not so much for rog-sama since he is recovering from a cold.

Took the bus from the airport to collegetown this time. Where all the hippie shops and college cafe's are at. And then Mr. Yoon walks right into a tiny opening besides a bong shop. It has a wall with mailboxes, no way he lives right above all the shops on main street!!?? and he does!

We walked to a little tapas place which was constantly packed, and empty table only lasted the time it took to clean it for the next patrons to eat. I had anything that had carbs on that menu, but skipped on wine since I won't drink alone. The spicy wings might have overdone it thou. My belly was about to explode as I lay on the bed and fell asleep ridiculously early.

It snowed this morning too ^_^

The 9 levels of cosplay hell

A million thanks to Angel, Mecha Chris and the other Chris (p00t too) for pointing this out to me:

The 9 levels of cosplay hell
Circle Two – The Lustful

Dante’s Hell: Those who made the most natural of sins, choosing carnal pleasures over God, are forced to spend eternity being blown about wildly. Inexplicably, this happens in pairs.

Cosplay Hell: The Attention Whores

Ladies, there’s such a thing as overkill. You’re an attractive woman that likes video games enough to dress up as a character out of one for fun. You don’t need to walk around the convention letting your labia breathe to get all the attention you could dream of. They bait nerd traps with girls like you, so showing up ninety percent naked is kind of like showing up at a bar absolutely naked. Sure, we appreciate it, but you probably could’ve gotten laid with a lot more on.

One more goal to scratch off my anime-whoring to-do list.
Now to surpass this brief e-fame with my next project!!

My **HUGE** Sword

I'm still not over the fact that Puru quit the cosplay group (most likely cuz she didn't get her way in costume choice), but putting that aside I am still extremely excited about the cosplay!
I've been acquiring materials slowly and just last week I was able to purchase some pretty nice (and light! and cheap!) oakwood to make the props/swords.

Today I finally got down to actually drawing the design on the darned thing and it has been quite a challenge. I'm so happy I'm actually doing it myself. I look at this piece of wood and get so excited! This is gonna rock!!

Muahahahahaha~
So yea, all youse girls gotta pick up some wood from me =3

Flight of the Conchords Favorite Song List

If you've heard/seen the FOC feel free to post you own list!
If you don't know what I'm talking about check 'em out already!

I'm gonna sneak in the doodle now, this is a Rinoa request I did during my first Anime Supercon, the person who asked for this picture was kind enough to scan it in and send me a copy now, a year later!
rinoa lingerie

Favorite songs (oder does matter!):

  1. "She's so hot... BOOM!"
By far the most hilarious FOC song. My favorite version is the one they use for their HBO show since they fixed a couple of kinks in the lyrics and sound, but on the live video Brett breaks out into his BOOM dance and that's just priceless. I like this song because it hilariously expresses Brett's immediate attraction to Coco it uses bouncy beats and those funny FX you hear in jamaican pop music. I also received an alternate version of the lyrics... I even tried to work out my own :P

  2. "Foux da fa fa"
Coulda been #1... I took french in highschool and I totally understand where these guys are coming from with this tune, it's so silly and catchy and it accurately emulates the sound of popular songs my French teacher would play for us in class. After this whenever I look at a baguette I have to smile.

  3. "Leggy Blonde"
This song definitely went up on my list after watching the episode it was featured on. The video is awkwardly sweet and it's the only song (?) not sung by Brett or Jemaine. Although all the FOC songs are straightforwardly honest, this one is breathtakingly pure...

  4. "Business Time"
Forget "Let's get it on" this is THE jam to get the ladies in the mood on your scheduled making love day, don't forget your business socks...

  5. "Mutha ...uckers"
The hymn of all the young, broke and racially discriminated minorities. I feel you Brett, I also need my red delicious.

I'm gonna leave it 5. I was having a hard enough time settling on my last two. Notable mentions: Beautiful Girl, Hip-hopopotamus vs Rhymenocerous, Ladies of the World and Robots; gimme that binary solo baby!
